In Korea, February is graduation season! Today, BEAST’s Son Dong-woon,2AM’s Jung Jinwoon, and pop singer Younha all attended their high school graduation ceremonies!
Unfortunately, not all pop stars get to attend their high school graduation due to schedules. This year, f(x)’s Sulli and F.T Island’s Lee Jae-jin will miss out on their graduation day.
At 10am this morning, 2AM mangnae (youngest member) Jung Jinwoonput on his high school uniform for the last time, to the dismay of many of his fans, and attended his graduation ceremony from Baekam High School in Yangcheon-gu of Seoul. Fellow 2AM member Changminattended to show his support of his orange-haired dongsaeng. Because he is known for wearing his school uniform so well, fans are upset that this may be the last time they get to see Jinwoon in a school uniform.
Jinwoon addressed his future academic plans, “Now I’m doing music but I want to try acting too, so I entered into the Film and Theater Department [at Daejin University]. I want to have fun with university life.”
In March, Jinwoon will begin his studies in film and theater at Daejin University in Gyeonggi-do Province. 2AM member Seulong also attends this same university.
BEAST mangnae Son Dong-woon also had his graduation ceremony atHanyoung High School in Seoul, at 10am this morning. Fellow BEAST members, Yoon Du-joon, Yong Jun-hyung, Chang Hyun-seung, andYang Yo-seob also joined to celebrate, but it must have been too early in the morning, because the members came out in full saeng-eol (without any makeup).
On his graduation, Dong-woon said, “Now I have graduated and have become a real adult… In the future, please look forward to my improved form as a member in BEAST.”
Dong-woon will be applying to university next year.
Finally, 21-year-old Younha also attended her high school graduation atHeekyung High School in Seoul. 6 years ago, in 2004, Younha dropped out of high school to pursue a singing career and promote her music in Japan. Later, in 2007, the bubbly pop star passed a high school proficiency test and began studying at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies(HUFS) in Seoul as a Japanese major. Heekyung High School decided to award the singer this year with an honorary diploma for her academic achievement and her aid in boosting the school’s reputation.
Younha said, “This spring, I’ll be in my 4th year of university, but I feel really good about being able to receive an honorary diploma like this… I’m really thankful to the school.”
Unfortunately, for f(x) member Sulli and F.T Island member Lee Jae-jin, living the pop star life means that they will miss out on their graduation ceremonies. Both of the groups are involved in overseas promotions and will be absent from their graduations tomorrow on February 5th.
Tomorrow, f(x) will be having a performance in China. Sulli will be missing out on her graduation from middle school at Chungdam Middle School in Seoul.
F.T Island will be having a concert in Thailand, so member Lee Jae-jin will be missing his high school graduation from the School of Performing Arts in Seoul.
Anyway, congratulations to all the graduates!
