It’s shocking how a comment left on MySpace can be blown out of proportion and cause such a storm.
It looks like 2PM’s leader, Jae-bum, couldn’t handle all the negative comments from the netizens and has made an official announcement stating that he will resign from 2PM. It has been reported that Jae-bum has already notified JYP Entertainment about his decision to resign from 2PM and made an official statement on 2PM’s fan cafe earlier today. At 12 noon, Jae-bum announced through his post,
I apologize for saying my last goodbye this way. I feel very sorry to everyone because of this situation and find it difficult to face everyone on stage again. I feel sorry and can only apologize to everyone, especially to all my fans that have given me so much love. I will officially resign from 2PM, today. 2PM members, I’m so sorry to all the members for not being capable of giving them strength and leaving such a burden on their shoulders as an elder and leader of the group. However, I ask and hope that everyone will give them more support and I apologize once again for everything.”
A representative of JYP has confirmed that Jae-bum’s resignation from the group is true. Jae-bum will return to his family in Seattle for the time being and the future of Jae-bum will be further discussed for the time being.
Netizens are really taking things too far this time. Throwing stones at Jae-bum for a statement he left on his MySpace three-four years ago when he was young and having difficutly adjusting to Korea is just wrong. I hope 2PM fans will join hands and work together to stop Jae-bum from leaving 2PM. It’s really sad to have to lose such a talented artist over a few sentences he left on his MySpace.
[UPDATE]: It looks like overseas 2PM fans have started a petition to keep support Jae-bum. Not sure how much help this would be but if any of you wan’t to sign the petition and show you’re support, here’s the link to the petition.
