JYPE : Hacked
Jaebum fans aren’t going down without a fight. Besides spreading rumors, they hacked JYPE.
On the day that JYP Entertainment (JYPE) released the statement that Jaebum’s contract had been terminated, some fans, distraught and utterly upset, hacked into the JYPE server to find personal information on the remaining 2PM members.
Yesterday, JYPE released this statement, “On February 25th, after the announcement of Jaebum’s removal from 2PM, some netizens started circulating criticism and personal attacks, lies, rumors, etc., regarding the remaining six members,” and then “JYPE has consulted the six members to form a plan to deal with this.”
Of course, 2PM “From now on, the members said that until the end, they will endure all feelings of being oppressed and warmly be close to the fans.”
After all the fluffy stuff, JYPE states, “But a few days ago, some netizens illegally discovered personal information on the six members, including their resident registration numbers (social security numbers) and circulated the information. Also, for their safety, the possibility that the information can be used in identity fraud cannot be left out of consideration.” And then, “Accordingly, on behalf of the six members, JYPE in informing the public that police assistance has been requested for this case.”
Big warning, huh? JYPE also tried to sweeten it up with, “On behalf of the six members, they are truly thankful for their dear fans, who give them encouragement through such a difficult state of affairs.”
On the other hand, if these netizens are opposed to the removal of Jaebum from 2PM, they could easily receive criticism for disclosing that personal information to the public.
“Nasty rumors”
Here’s a taste of the types of discussions being spread on the internet.
1. Jaebum was outcasted by the rest of the members.
In a number of 2PM videos, Jaebum is pushed around physically by other members, and now fans are convinced it isn’t friendly fighting.
The say that Jaebum was always bullied and outcasted by the other members for “having a weird sense of humor,” as seen throughout Mnet’s “Hot Blood” and”Wild Bunny” series.
2. Nichkhun is bullied.
For a group of guys that love skinship, fans wonder why the other members seem to avoid touching Nichkhun.
Fans feel that Nichkhun is often shown being left out by the other members, especially netizens are pointing out the above video when Nichkhun was “oddly quiet” throughout the taping and then “left behind sulking” in the end.
Many feel that Nichkhun spoke up for Jaebum in the eventful 2PM meeting that ousted Jaebum.
3. 2PM (and 2AM) members party, smoke, and drink.
Also, in the above video, Junho is seen playing with a lighter, many think it’s because he’s a smoker.
Also, various pictures of 2PM members are being posted showing them partying and drinking, notably the mangnae Chansung, who until 2009, was underaged.
Fan clubs tend to know a lot about their groups, but keep the private life stuff under wraps, but now they are earnestly revealing that 2PM members aren’t perfect and questioning how JYPE could be so judgemental toward Jaebum.
Do you think the fans are going too far?
