New idol group F.cuz (pronounced “focus”) had their début on Music Bank’s January 8th broadcast with the début single “JIGGY.”
All in all, it was a good performance for the rookies, even though their outfits are questionable. At least this time, they left the knee/elbow/wrist pads at home.
Just as F.cuz is comfortable in front of the camera, they proved they are also very comfortable on the stage. Besides small signs of nervousness, I can’t believe that this is their first stage. The four rookies actually sang the majority of the song live. Though the choreography is relatively simple, they executed the moves and formations well. The members certainly seemed a little exhausted, but they brought a lot of energy to the stage.
LeeU was especially impressive with his ability to perform on stage. It must run in the family. (His father is Trot singer, Sul Woon-do.) Kan also naturally demanded attention with his stage presence, making up for his iffy vocals. Maybe it’s his soft, youthful look, but Yejun’s performance is strangely reminiscent of SHINee’s Taemin when he debuted (anyone else?). Maybe in future songs, Jinon will be able to better display his rapping ability. Though he was solid throughout this performance, this song doesn’t show off his talent. Until then, enjoy the catchy “JIGGY” and LeeU’s mushroom hair.
