The January 15th broadcast of KBS “Music Bank” featured two super rookies: C.N Blue and ZE:A (pronounced “jeh-ah,” short for “Children of Empire”).
C.N. Blue, who released their music video and mini-album “Bluetory” the day before, sang their title song “I’m a Loner.” C.N Blue, who debuted in Japan last year, brought to the stage 6 month’s worth of experience. Suave and confident, this KRock band made a solid stage debut in the motherland.
ZE:A, who released their music video a week before, performed “Mazeltov.” This is the kind of idol debut we’re used to. ZE:A’s performance was decent, but the sheer number of people on the stage was confusing at moments. There are nine members. Though they did all the choreography well (I think), it was a little rigid and at crucial moments, the timing was slightly off. ZE:A needs to grow a little more into their large group’s shoes. or the choreographers need to take some cues from Girls Generation and Super Junior: they don’t all have to be dancing all the time, and make sure the person with the solo part is front and center.
