2NE1′s new album to be released in September

2NE1 will make a comeback to the Kpop scene with a new album on September 9, 2010.

The group’s first complete album will be titled “To Anyone” and consist of 12 songs in total (6 new songs, 4 digital singles of previously released songs, 2 bonus tracks). 2NE1 will select 3 title tracks and promote all 3 songs at once. This will be quite a change as you see many artists selecting and promoting 2 title tracks at once but never 3.

Yang Hyun-seok of YG Entertainment stated that it costs a lot more time and money to film more than one music video and due to differences in public opinion, it is unlikely that all 3 songs will be hits. He continued by saying that of the main TV music programs in four different networks, three are ranking-based, meaning the networks will want the group to promote only the popular and highly ranked title track(s). Yang Hyun-seok expressed that despite the aforementioned obstacles, 2NE1 chose to promote 3 title tracks because the girls wanted to showcase the group’s various music styles to the fans rather than fight for the number 1 spot on the music charts.

The 3 title tracks and music videos will be released on September 9, 2010 at 12:00 am.

Blackjacks, are you excited?
