Music Bank: 96ers and older only!

KBS Music Bank is raising the viewing age for their music show from 12 to 15 (1996). The announcement was made on the Music Bank homepage and from now on, viewers must be 15 or over to enter as an audience.

The reason behind this was because performance nowadays have been very tabloid and inappropriate for younger viewers. Also, many performers have been going with the motto, “The less, the sexier” or as in Music Bank terms, “The less, the messier.” In other words, outfits have been much “less” to be more “showy” and artists are being considered eye candy more than singers.

I doubt this method would work with all the massive technology we have, but it’s good to know KBS actually cares. There are few artists that could have been the reason for this change of viewers age, but I won’t name them. Do any names come in mind for you?
