’71: Into the Fire’ held a press conference at Lotte World, Jamsildong, Seoul; on May 24th. The war theme movie stars, an impressive array of A-listers with impeccable acting skills; Cha Seung-won, Kim Seung-woo,Kwon Sang-woo and T.O.P

1950 was the year that held one of the most painful chapters for South Korea. That year, on June 25th, 71 students bravely fought the North Koreans soldiers, who conspicously outnumbered them. Who would have thought, that a place for knowledge could also be a gruesome battle field? A letter written by one of the fallen students, was the inspiration for this movie.

The 16 year-old deceased student wrote, “Omma,I’ve just killed someone.I don’t know what to feel anymore. My mind is running horrible thoughts. Why must we go to war? I want this to end quickly and feel your warm embrace”
A tearjearker masterpiece it shall be. Judging from the trailer, this USD 10.4 million blockbuster will be leading the nominations for this year’s awards ceremony. We think T.O.P might walk away with a newcomer award.

Could ’71:Into the Fire’ reach the levels of ‘Taegukgi’? Well, aside from the ardent support of VIPs for their husky-voiced idol, we think it just might.

Only a minute of viewing and we don’t see an idol,desirable bodies or handsome men; because all we saw was… good acting. The movie will be release on June 17th.
