Best in Variety Programs: Jo Kwon

2AM leader Jo Kwon, was selected as being the singer with the best performance on variety programs in an online survey at bugs.co.kr. Good to see all that flamboyant acting out is paying off.

Variety programs such as “Star Golden Bell” and “Family Outing” are important to Kpop singers, because it promotes their music and has the possibility of sky-rocketing their popularity, so it’s no wonder why this music portal website would hold a survey on who fans think do it the best. The top idol groups in Korea all went through a little variety programming as newbies on the scene, and the best of the best know that they must keep it up in order to keep their fan base growing, as some of their not-crazy fans can easily get tired or mature out of their idol crushes. By performing well on variety programs, new fans, especially the 20-year-olds, will be drawn to learn more about the idol star. Moreover, performing well means invitations to more variety shows and even regular spots on primetime variety shows.

Jo Kwon received the number 1 spot out of a field of idol stars, sweeping the competition with a huge 48.86% of the votes. A regular on “Family Outing Season 2” and “We Got Married,” Jo Kwon is known for being skilled in having fun conversations, acting out, witty remarks, ssantidancing, telling embarrassing and/or interesting stories of 2AM and 2PM members, and doing girl group dances. All of this, and he’s actually talented as a singer give him the number one spot. As 2AM has released their latest single, “I Was Wrong,” you’ll sure to be seeing more and more of this crazy kid across your television.

The number 2 spot goes to Brown Eyed Girls member, and “Invincible Youth” and “Star Golden Bell” regular Narsha. The spunky member is known for saying witty and sometimes outlandish remarks without hesitation. Fans find her frankness refreshing, as she seems to stay true to her real personality on variety programs.

3rd place goes to C.N Blue frontman, Jung Yong-hwa, who has a mix of newcomer innocence and a sharp tongue. 4th place is the cute girl with a strangely interesting personality Hyo-min of T-ara. 5th is goofy 2PMrapper Taecyeon, and 6th goes to Secret’s Han Sun-hwa.

The results may be a little confusing, as many may be asking where certain idols are, including the man who works hard for his fans, Lee Seung-ki, Super Junior’s Eeteuk and Eunhyuk, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon,Kara’s Nicole, a number of Girls Generation members, or even Eun Ji-won. Yeah, POPSEOUL is wondering the same thing.
