Last I heard, he was in big trouble.
Super Junior’s Kangin committed two offenses in the fall of 2009, and finally the punishment for the first of the offenses is made known.
He got a slap on the wrist, really.
On September 16th in a bar in the Gangnam district of Seoul, the Kangin and a friend got into an altercation with two other customers that went to the wrong seats. The talkative singer was booked for “an act of violence,” but his indictment was suspended. This means, that though the offense is on his record, Kangin did not receive any other punishment.
The chief of the investigation said that Kangin had no previous offenses and was cooperative with the police investigation, so his indictment got suspended.
But! One month later, on October 16th, in a drunken state, Kangin crashed into a stopped taxi and then fled the scene. It was cited as a hit-and-run. Because he later turned himself in, Kangin is not expected to receive the harshest punishment, but as this is the second offense on his record within a month of the last, the police may not go easy on him.
Punishment for his second offense is still unknown, but Super Junior’s tough guy has ceased his activities as a form of self-discipline, so he has time to think about what he did.
